Cincy Culture Celebrated in The Daily Beast

“What became clear is that something here is working. This is not a city dwindling away, but rather thriving, intriguing, and very much alive.” - William O’Connor, The Daily Beast

Anyone from this region knows there’s a lot to love. But like most towns in between the coast, it seems to take a metropolitan publication to remind the world that there’s plenty of cool shit going on in our own backyard.

The Daily Beast fits that bill. Headquartered in New York, the pub touts “A smart, speedy take on the news from around the world.” So to see they chose to write about the cultural sights and sounds from the Queen City was encouraging to see. Better yet, they did a great job of focusing on what makes this area truly interesting.

It’s not just baseball (though we love it), not just Joe Burrow (but who doesn’t love Joe?)—not the obvious stuff. The Daily Beast chose to focus on the cultural assets that make Cincy the Cultural Crown of the Midwest. From five-star fare and art to cultural history at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Isaac M. Wise Temple, William O’Connor trekked through the truly good stuff, and had plenty of wonderful things to say. Check out his article here.

It’s exciting to see, as we worked with the Cincinnati Regional Tourism Network as well as MeetNKY to develop the new brand for Regional Tourism. We leveraged many of the characters and places we thought people like William O’Connor would like, and chose to celebrate Cincy Culture is all shapes and forms.
